I went to Boston University and I had a good time. The professors were good, met a lot of people because BU is so huge (even though the Communications school is small) and going to school in Boston is a blast.
BU is a bit pricey though. Aren't all colleges these days? whew.

Does it have a good film program? Sure. The professors were great. Keep in mind that when I was there you cannot take a film production class until your junior year although you take film studies and screenwriting course before then. Which isn't a bad idea...you need to make a film about something right?
How does it compare? No idea. Only went to one film school.
Is it the best? No. Is it good? Yes. Did I have a great time? Definatley. Film School (or college for that matter) is really what you make of it.

North Carolina School of the Arts is another great school.
FSU has a fantastic program, and they give your budgets for your student films. (senior projects get a budget of $25,000 and have the option of using their 35mm cams.) R. M.

Besides the ones people have said there is always Emerson College in boston, BU and BC...alson two good film schools are Florida State University but they only except 14 freshman i think into the film program and UCF where they except 34 or 35...but midwest Columbia College Chicago I've heard is really good
