If anyone has ever visited or actually went there, I'd love to know what you thought about it.

I'm a film student at the University of Colorado at Boulder and I can give some insight.

The film school here is a very indy art film school. If you enjoy art films (i'm not talking independent production I'm talking about brakhage art film) then this is a great place. There is a very strong emphasis on film history as well.

Teachers prefer 16mm over digital and a lot of hands on work is done. Another great thing is that pretty much everyone gets to make their own short films in production classes. The downside to this being development fees coming out of pocket (as well as film stock etc).

To the South Park Guys reply; yes they did attend here and I don't know how big of a cinophile they are but South Park has an extremely large amount of inside film history jokes and borrowed plots so the school must have done at least a little well =).

Didn't Matt Stone and Trey Parker drop out?

Anyway, good to hear that your school is still using 16mm and hasn't cheaped out and switched to video.

Yep Matt Stone and Trey Parker dropped out of university of colorado at boulder after putting together 10k to make a teaser for their film Cannibal: The Musical. They were still here for at least a year or two which would have gotten them through the 8 hour a week film history survey courses (one silent and the other post 1930s).

ithailianmatt,

thanks for your reply, I appreciate it. However I'm actually talking about a different school (I should have been more specific in my first post). I'm looking for anyone's opinion on Colorado Film School at the community college of aurora and the university of colorado at denver.
