UT Austin RTF... So does anyone here go there? If so I am looking for information on how hard it is to get into... In highschool I haven't done that great. I have aroudn a 3.0 GPA but I did get a 32 on the ACT. I also have lots of advanced and honors classes on my transcript, will that help? I would love any information you have. Thanks. :-Dc

I go to UT Austin and am in the RTF program.

My experience is this, unless you are a top 10% of your class or a minority you will not even get into UT, let alone the College of Communication. However, don't lose hope, because I was neither. I had to go to UTSA for my freshman year. I made a 3.82 GPA then went to UT for a semester then got into RTF.

UTSA was actually a decent school, very easy and laid back.

the program kicks ass.

As far as getting in, it's tough.

Even with out of state tuition it is a bargain, but to be admitted from out of state is really tough. The top 10% doesnt matter if your out of state. They only allow a small percentageo of out of state. I don't know what an ACT score of 32 transcribes to on the SAT, but if its in the range of 1450-1600, then you have a chance at getting in.

but there are alot of different options out there, but austin is the greatest city in the world.

Yeah a 32 is pretty high up there.. . Not quite 1450... more like 1400 or so. I am going to take it again though and try and fix the stuff I messed up the first time. Anywho. Thanks for the information you two.

There's always someone out there cooler than you.

Okay I'm a junior in high school right now and I was considering UT also. I'm currently in the top 10% in my highschool and I'm a minority. But I'm out of state.

Are my chances high atleast?

I take my ACT next weekend so I have no scores to base anything on right now.
