Hey I'm interested on going to the New York Film Academy in Manhattan and I have one question for anyone who has gone there. Are there a lot of cockroaches and/or are they a big problem there? I hate cockroaches and have a phobia about them (I'm a wuss I know) and don't think I'd be able to live in a place where they were constantly around. If anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it because I am really interested in going there, thanks.

Hahahahah. I can see that you're really taking into account such influential factors before you go. If this is serious, then you should know that all big cities in the US have cockroaches, they're just...always there. I personally don't how the number of them varies from city to city.
i don't know whether to laugh my head off or be extremley offended by this as a new yorker. yes, i suppose there will be cockroaches if you live in a dirt hole in nyc, but no nyc apartments, dorms, hotels etc are not infested by roaches. I would reconsider coming to nyc just for the reason that something like bugs would actually put you off to seeking a career in film.
i'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal labotomy

Here in SF I have yet to see a cockroach anywhere. We have spiders though, lots and lots of spiders, in the car, on the car, in the house, on the window, on the rail.
But in Florida, you see atleast one cockroach everyday walking around the house. And in miami they get really big and fly.
