hey, have anyone heard something about SVA in NYC? i wanna know how good it is... i've heard that it is kind of very technichal and that kids get right into filmmaking.....

I have a friend who goes to SVA and loves it. If you pursue the BFA in Film and Video then you focus in on four possible tracks of study: writing, directing, editing, or cinematography. The teachers only teach one or two classes in order to encourage them to continue working in the industry, so you'll be taught by people who "are" and not "were."

Regular Admissions deadline in March 1st. I'm also applying, so I know the drill.

I can't find anywhere on the site where it says the deadline is March 1st. Can someone give me a link to confirm?

Yeah, I don't see it either... it actually looks like all their deadline stuff was for people who already applied last year. I sent them an e-mail, so I let you know if I have a breakthrough.

I apologize. Registration BEGINS on March 1st. I can't seem to find a deadline for regular first-year applicants. I'd see what they say back from KtoI's query.

I took a few courses over the summer at SVA. Can't say I loved it so much. There was only one experienced teacher- and he didn't even teach. I don't like teachers who say their film career is strictly based around teaching film- cus all your learning is basic fundementals- not real like scenarios. But like they say: Film school is what you make of it

I just got an email from them today. The dealine is February 1st.

Got my acceptance letter today. Good possibility I'll go, but I'm still waiting on NYU and Purchase.
