In Canada, near the GTA, we have York and Ryerson which, from what I've heard and read, are some of the better ones in the great-white-north. But this is coming from a person who is applying this year and is in high-school and going through the same dilemna. Cool

Hey Mr. Blonde - I also live in Ontario and in gr. 12. What other schools are you applying to? I am thinking Ryerson, York ... Concordia. I haven't considered the colleges much yet.

There are a LOT of filmmakers from York at the Next Reel Festival going on here right now. Don't know how good one has to be to get accepted to this festival, but I just thought I'd throw it out there.

Right Now Ryerson, York, and Queen's, the last is in my town which is helpful on shelter. I'm not considering colleges either I mean, like $90 application package (3) to College on top of $100 application pack (3) to University, not to mention $33 for every additional single application, I swear Ontario is trying to **** us.

That is true ... at Queen's, is it just film studies or production too?

If you don't mind me asking, what are your marks like? Have you made several films?

I think Queen's is a bit of both like you study, then you produce.

My marks are in the mid-high 70's to mid 80's depending on the course, so far I've made/making about five films, three of which I produced/wrote/assistant-direct, and two of which I went auteur style on, basically doing everything (one-man-production), the first of which was well received, and the second is being editted.

I've also written way-more than produced, like three features, and like 6-7 shorts.

What are your marks at and what movies have you made in you career?

My marks are mid-80s to low-90s (hopefully will stay that way throughout this year). So far, I haven't made too much. My friends and I started a movie, but never have time to work on it that fits all of our schedules. I've also created videos for school projects, but not 'films', per se. Unfortunately, I live in a small town where there is no film market and there are no resources at my school for me to use ... I'm going to try to make a better film this year ...

I hope you get to make your films this year, I live in a small town too, and my film programs all just downsized/the major program which was all day stopped *secretly* in the summer. Ryerson doesn't ask for films which may be a good thing, they want like a few written goods and some stills/art pieces.
