Your SAT score is a tad low, but your GPA, APs and extracurriculars are not bad at all.
My biggest worry is the portfolio reel. Tisch looks for very strong narrative story-telling ability in a portfolio reel, and a documentary could fall short of that. obviously, without seeing it I can't speak on that, but it's something to consider. Other than that, write a killer essay and good luck!

in admissions process to NYU, do you first become accepted to NYU, and then they pass you on to Tisch, or is tisch admissions dept. the sole reviewer of one's app
thanks

It's all very secretive, but I believe that NYU would first approve you (rumors say they outsource initial approvals to a third party group) and then pass your application on to Tisch, who would examine the portfolio which you sent them separately, and make a decision. It's also possible, though unlikely, that you would be accepted to NYU, but not Tisch.

Given that you specifically apply to Tisch, it's highly unlikely that you get into NYU but not Tisch. They might throw you into GSP or something, but seeing as that's 2 years the transfer of credits might be a bit... messy. Most people I know either got into the school they applied to or didn't get into NYU at all.
