I live in Argentina and I've studied in a film school for 3 years but recently dropped out because it was not a good school, and I wanted a more commercial oriented University (which don't exist in this country). So, since I'm an american citizen, I thought about studying in either directing, cinematography or editing in America as an undergraduate.
The problem is my grades are really low and plus, I graduated from high school here in Argentina and makes everything more complicated. I was planning to go to a community college for 2 years in California and transfer... I made a selection of universities based on opinions and what I've been told: USC, UCLA, NYU, Emerson, Chapman, Columbia, Art Center and Academy of Arts.
My doubt is if it's possible to tranfer from college to the film programs since I haven't found much info about transfer policies for film programs. Is it as hard as being accepted in the first year of the program? Will I be missing much?
I just hope they accept portfolios since I think it'd be easier, as my writing is not so good... and I really believe a picture (or a video) is worth a thousand words. Really

This is the media I'm planning to include in my portfolio:
A short film I made last year assuming the roles of director, actor, screenwriter, camera man and art director (it was filmed in a set):

Thanks in advance for any info or tip!
