I am looking to go to a respectable film school that has a good division one or three program. The only one I have been able to find has been Ithaca in New York, any other suggestions? Thanks
you're looking for a good film school with a division 1 or 3 lacrosse program? dude...look into syracuse university's(in upstate ny) visual and performing arts program. as for their lacrosse team? they've been ncaa national champion 8 times!

Funny that you say that, I actually went up and visited Syracuse a couple months ago and it was pretty awesome but I think New York's a little too cold for me. I'd like to go somewhere not so far up north as that, any other suggestions? Thanks Christine
lol! i'm a 'cuse native so i do know firsthand that the weather up here is a beeotch!
my parents wanted me to go to syracuse after i graduated from community college since i'd be able to still live at home and be able to get my film education. what turned me off from su, is that a lot of students in their vpa progrm would come to my college to use our electronic media dept's avid systems, saying the editing equipment at my school was better and more available! that is why i chose to go to nyfa.
my friend brandi started su's film program this past semester. she said it was EXCELLENT instruction-wise, but didn't really like the large size of her film classes. i guess she was to used to the 12 people that were in our video production class at community college. ANOTHER reason why i chose nyfa.
i know you said new york state is too cold for you, but try looking into suny purchase(it's downstate ny so it's not QUITE as cold as it is up here, but they still get "snow days"). purchase has a very reputable film program, but it's a suny(state university of new york) school...so i don't believe their atheletics are division 1 or 3.

I'm sure they're terrible, but several schools in southern California have lacrosse teams. One of my friends was on the team at UC San Diego and I'm pretty sure USC has a team as well. I doubt either have lacrosse scholarships if that's what you're after, though. Good luck!

These are all awesome suggestions but I was honestly looking for schools below NY in the baltimore, Virginia, D.C. area that have lacrosse programs. Syracuse is awesome but I really dont wanna go that far away (I live in Texas). Whittier college has a respectable divison 3 program in california but they are a tiny school and I would really like to be taught by some good professors, I appreciate all of the suggestions and i'd appreciate more, thanks a ton
I'm afraid you may be on a bit of a snipe hunt. The problem is there are only a handfull of good film programs on the east coast and no real lacrosse powers on the west coast (I bet 90% of Californians have never even heard of it).
Here are some of the better University film programs in the east (You'll have to fill in the blanks on which, if any, have decent lacrosse teams).
NYU Columbia (NY) Florida State Boston University Emerson
Others may add to the list (Hopefully).
Good luck!
