Hi all-
I've read some of the posts about Full Sail, and I was wondering if there are other similar programs like that. from what I've read about, it seems like there are schools like AFI or NYU that are less technical and much harder to get into. Does anyone know of programs that would be more like Full Sail?
And do you think getting a degree at a school like that would help me get a job in the industry?

i do not believe that there are any film schools that are going to guarantee a job in the industry after graduation.

what film schools do is they teach you about film, the technical side, a little aesthetic, and they mostly provide you with the equipment, and how to use it, from there, you the student has to put forth the effort to use what they have offered you (after tuition is paid) to go out and make a film, make a demo reel, and have some foothold against all the other competition out there.

it is up to the student to get that job.

without a good reel and prior knowledge from an institution or experience in the field, NYU and AFI are very tough to get into.

Before attending the Academy of Art College in SF, I applied to both those schools, and only had a poor reel and internship to show for.
AFI gave me an interview and denied me, and NYU denied me straight out.

research your options.
