any california based community college puts you in a good position to transfer to a UC - and UCLA is one of the best film schools in the country. You have to work your ass off though - UCLA is a tough school to transfer into, you need perfect grades and a very active extra-curricula background. A great portfolio couldn't hurt either.

I think 2 years are enough to make a good portfolio.
Thanks for your answer! I really appreciate it

Santa Monica College is the school that most people go to when trying to transfer to UCLA. It's generally easier to transfer into than to get accepted as a freshman. But, california community colleges are very expensive for out of state, non-residents. California residents pay $11 a unit whereas non-residents pay about $250 per unit (25 times more!!!). If money is an issue, consider moving to California a year before and get residency.

SMC sounds great, but:
you need to have someone living in LA county to take care about you if you`re younger than 18 yo. I`m 16 yo.
I was accepted to Orange Coast College the day before yesterday. It is #3 in transfer to UCLA. SMC is #1. Which college is #2?

this works for out-of-state americans, it does not work for international students on visas - they are out-of-state by definition - always
