My name is Asaf and i'm a first year film student from tel aviv.
My story is kinda sad, as my film school is closing down due to financial problems (just my luck), and the other domestic options are not very appealing.
I was wondering if any of you know what are the regulations regarding international transfer students in schools such as NYU, USC, UCLA, and AFI.
Again, I've finished my first year here in israel, and i'll add that money is no problem, I just wanna study film at a worthy school.
Thanks a bunch, Asaf.

I know that NYU puts much more weight on academics than on film work when transferring. Most of your film courses will not transfer over and you'll need to start from the beginning. If you've got good academic records you'll have no problem getting in as a transfer though

Hey Asaf, I am from Germany and just have been accepted as an international transfer student to USC in Film & Television Production. Normally you will have to take the SAT and the toefl test to be accepted as an international student to an American university. In addition you will have to fulfil special requirements from the different film programs (portfolio, writing samples...). The best thing is to call the universities as well as their film departments to get the needed application information. Best wishes from Germany and good luck for your applications! André

if you transfer to NYU after visiting one year of filmschool somewhere else, they will place you as a sophomore in sight and sound film. so you will be even more experienced than people who attended NYU as freshmen.
I transfered into NYU as a sophomore and they took all my credits from freshman year (long island university) and also gave me 25 credits for free for my high school diploma

They're giving me about $9,000 in a scholarship, and about another $9,000 in government loans. I'm getting the rest in a private school loan, which I don't have to pay back until after school. I think I'd better go to grad school too to hold them off a while
