Hi, I am undergoing a search for the right college, and it has lead me to this question. Will a film studies undergraduate major do well enough for the time, until I go onto graduate school, where I can learn more production skills and that sort, or should I try to have all 6 years of production. Do film schools accept a degree in film studies, and if they so, do they prefer it one way or another? And I am also considering a literature degree, which I think would go well for the writing aspect of film, and also which I have found out in a couple universites is mixed in with some film studies. And also would that be accepted in a film school? Lots of questions, I realize, so just answer what you can, if you can. Thanks.

if you want to do the technical aspects of film after university, do film production. If you're into theory or other tangents of film, take film studies. In your case, you want to get a literature degree, then take film studies.

You can always learn the technical side by doing it yourself Wink
