I've been accepted into both Boston University and Ithaca College for film and am having a tough time deciding. I was wondering if anyone could provide any insight into which program will give me a better overall film education. It seems to me that Boston will provide a more legit writing background, but at Ithaca you get to start making films your freshmen year. Both schools have study abroad in L.A., but which school actually has better connections to the Film Industry?

I was accepted to both of those as well, but i decided to go to Emerson College instead. I have a friend who goes to BU and says its ok but its annoying that he hasnt touched a camera yet (hes a sophomore) and he doesnt know why. like in the sense that ok he hasnt actually made something in the class but he hasnt learned anything that would give him a reason to not be able to make a movie yet. something like that. but as far as name goes, i would pick BU. Plus its in a better location with a lot more internship opportunities that u can take before u do the LA program as an upperclassmen. none the less, ithaca is also good aha

heya! i had to pick between the same schools...i ended up picking ithaca because it was a huge issue for me to not be able to start production until my junior year...i'm ready to begin now.

I was waitlisted to emerson and just got in soo now i'm between ithaca and emerson!

for what it's work ithaca has a really great program and the people are friendly.

I was also wait listed at emerson and I just found out I got in. I had already decided on BU over Ithaca, but now I am going to enroll at Emerson for film production. I visited all 3 schools and talked to many professors and I can tell you that emerson stands out above the others in terms of experienced faculty. Ithaca's park school of communications was great, but nothing else in ithaca really impressed me. There is no doubt that you would gain more life experience living in the city of Boston as opposed to the town of Ithaca.
