Ive heard from lots of different people that it doesnt really matter where u go to undergrad school for film, but that its important where u go for grad school. And the only two schools I keep hearing that have a grad program are UCLA and USC. What are the differences between those two grad programs? Has anyone here been in either of them? Any info would be awesome.

I haven't attended either, but I know a little about each.

USC has rediculous amounts of equipment and resources. It's a very Hollywood style school. I wouldn't say that they trump your artistic license, but there does seem to be a common thread in many of their productions. UCLA is most famous for their screenwriting program. It's a smaller program than USC and harder to get in to.

It's a little strange that those are the only 2 schools you've heard about. NYU, Florida State, AFI (Where I go), Cal Arts and now Chapman all have exceptional grad programs.

Most people apply to a bunch and go to the one that actually accepts them (They're all tough to get in to, and they usually look for different things).

Good luck!
