I'm currently going to the University of Oregon but I want to transfer because the UofO doesn't have a film program. I'm thinking of either going to Academy of Arts San Francisco or Columbia College Chicago. I want to study both acting in and directing film. If you go there or know things about them, I would really appreciate your opinions on both and just general information like job placement after graduation, fascilities and staff, overall quality of programs, how much it actually is (college's are always so deceiving when it comes to actual cost of going to school) and any other information that you think would be beneficial for me to know.
Thanks

I've heard of the Academy of Art...for some reason I thought it was in LA, not san francisco, but I could be wrong. All I know about it is that it has a no-barrier admission...basically if you pay the money, you can go to the school. Kind of like NYFA, however the difference being that the Academy of Art is a 4-year college where you will recieve a degree. And one of my friends is going to Columbia College for photography next year...from what I've heard it's not hard to get into and they have a good film program. Hope that helps, sorry I dont know too much about either school.

i have a really close friend who goes to academy of art in san francisco for film production and she LOVES IT! it basically like a conservatory or vocational school, so you'll learn all the tricks of the trade, but it doesn't necessarily have all the connections that a usc or nyu would have.
