So last weekend i visited Savannah College of Art and Design and University of North Carolina-Wilmington, keep in mind im from Wisconsin. Savannah is far from being a taditional campus. Its spread out between 50 or so buildings throughout historic Savannah, GA. The classes and facilities were top notch and the faculty is dedicated to help you create your style. I kind of like the close knit community of a trad. college....soo, i went to see UNC-Wilmington. Their campus is what you think of when you see a perfect, movie set, college campus. Nice green space, all the buildings are the same, everyone friendly, and sunny, almost all the time. I talked with the film dept. chair and he said they prepare you not only for the creative part, but the part where you have to market yourself to the industry.... Now i know most schools do that, but it sounded kind of cool there. Also they are 10 miles from screen\gems studios. Every student gets at least a couple interships there in a real production studio, the owner of the studio is the Lead professor of the program, and a handfull of classes are taught directly on the lot! So it seems i am kind of biased towards this college....but it is also $10,000 cheaper a year.....
thoughts, comments, suggestions.....i only have 3 days to send in my deposit!!!
Thanks,
Jeremy
