how do you apply online and still send in a video portfolio to schools. i tried finding it online at college sites, but its not as easy as i originally hoped

well... i believe that most schools have an application thats separate from the film program. So what you can do is apply online (through the common app maybe) and send your portfolio/film separate. Maybe that answered your question? That is what i did for NYU. I filed out the common app online for NYU and sent my portfolio to the film department.

...and they can easily say, "well, whats this random film we got? lets see if he applied to our school... Well, I'll be, he did, that makes sense"

one thing is, like, since it is two seperate departments, is it possible taht they review my online application and accept/deny me before seing my movie?

i think they can do that if they want. However, if they did do that they would be *******s! I have no idea how the whole process works, but i imagine each department would review their portfolio/application and then contact each other and make a decision from there. I prefer not to think about it.

The online application should tell you where to send the portfolio material, and it should tell you whether you should wait for a response from them before you send it.
