Hello,

I got accepted to UCSD, UCSB, CSULB, SF State, SD State, I can't decide which one to go to if UCLA doesn't accept me. I sort of narrowed down to SD State and CSULB. Any suggestions.

Thanks

I would say that it all depends upon what you are looking for. SFSU's focus is experimental and according to Film School Confidential, the best thing about going there is that it's in San Francisco.

SDSU's focus seems to be a mix of everything - it's called Television, Film, and New Media Production, so you're learning radio, TV, film, and some film studies and criticism, too, I believe. SDSU is a third or fourth-tier school.

I've heard that they are pretty hard on students at UCSD. A couple people I know who went there said they make students cry when they go over your thesis films or thesis because they rip it apart.

I've heard that CSULB is good, but I don't know much about it, just that when I asked a film prof about what schools are good, that was one of the names he mentioned.

But what I'd recommend is to look deeply at the curriculum and take a tour and decide which one is a better match for you. You could also type in the name of the school into google with "review" after it and maybe you'll get some feedback from students on the internet.
