hey guys i'm a newbie and after months of checking out the admissions info of both NYU and USC i gave up on my dream of applying, first of all i have almost zero experience on the field and second of all tuition on both is much more than what i can afford. while looking for other schools i ran into a small independent private college called the School of Visual Arts that is located in NY. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the school, and if it is worth considering it as a possible option. if not, are there any other reccomendations? thanks...

I'm a freshman in SVA's film program. I think it's pretty awesome. The location is good. You get hands on experience right away. Your teachers are all working professionals. Facilities are good. Not to mention tuition is considerably lower than other private schools. Seriously, don't get hung up on NYU. At SVA you wont have to pray that you're allowed to do your thesis film and you wont have to take two years of bull**** film theory classes before you touch a camera.

edit: If you have any more specific questions feel free to ask.
