I'm at the end of my junior year in high school and I'm trying to decide where to go to school. Of course I want to major in film and my choice location would be in NY (I'm considering NYU and Ithaca). However due to money issues I'll most likely end up having to go someplace in my homestate of Ohio. The only two schools I've found with decent programs in Ohio thus far are Ohio University (not Ohio State University mind you) and Wright State University. All of my info about the programs at these schools so far has been through word of mouth and whatever I can find on their website about their film programs. If any one could give me any info about any of these schools or about other good schools in Ohio it'd be greatly appreciated!

The thing with film school's, as with other schools, is that you're going to get what you put into it. Don't plan on going to NYU and automatically becoming a great filmmaker...you have to work your a** off to become great. Try to pick a school that has a lot of equpment and will let you do as much as you want(or close to it). If the school has great facilities and equipment and will help you with what you want to do, you should be fine. Teachers are essential as well. Make sure the school you go to has great teaching. Get a list of professors at your school and look them up on IMDB.com or a website like that. I go to The School of Visual Arts and the teaching here is amazing, there is lots of equipment, and as long as you have the time and money to make a movie you can use the equipment and facilities that the school has.

Just make sure when you visit the school you check out the equipment room and their facilities if it's possible. Good Luck!

I really appreciate your help, but that's all just general stuff that I already knew. What I'm looking for is info about the specific schools so that I can have a general idea before I decide where to visit get a whole bunch of information from. Hopefully that makes things a little more clear.
