I have recently become very interested in pursuing a film career. However, I do not have much experience. I am a junior in high school currently. I do have a 4.0 and am involved in theatre, SAB, TI, Spanish. I am also thinking of attending a national honors convocation film program next summer. But my first Q is regarding not so "elite" film schools. SO I live in Ohio, so are there any all right film schools there? What are people's opinions on OSU's film studies or OU's programs? Does anyone have anything good to say in regards to Notre Dame film school? Also, since Wilmington, NC is home to a rather large film studios, would UNCW be worth applying to? I have never heard much about, but im sure the internships would be great bc there would be less competition there.
Is it smarter route to try for a more expensive undergraduate program or try for a more cheaper route and gain experience or save money for graduate?
Any advice is awesome!

Sorry, I don't know much about schools right around Ohio, but if you are interested in going to school in North Carolina, definitely look into North Carolina School of the Arts. I've heard nothing but good things about it and it graduates very talented filmmakers it seems.

I went to CSU...the faculty is well educated, (AFI, Columbia, and Emerson MFAs come to mind)and dedicated. The university gives you practically free reign with equipment and projects, and you own them.
The class selection is limited since the program is rather new, so that sucks...but it's truly what you make of it.
I got into three great graduate MFA programs from CSU (I chose USC) and I know another recent grad who just started at Chapman, so it's possible.
Kent has a pretty good program, especially if you're into non-traditional, experimental stuff, and I've often heard that OU is pretty impressive, especially since the program is so small...but mostly from people in Ohio.
OSU's program is kind of new, right?
Good luck, let me know if I can be of assistance.

Check Denison they have a pretty good film program from what I've heard, not world renowned or anything but enough to get your foot in the door and propell you towards graduate...also Bowling Green has a film program I'm not sure how good it is but I've heard it's a good school, haven't heard anything about their film program, but I know they have one
