I live in the US. There's a lot of good film schools in the US, I'd say at least 10. It would take all day for me to give you detailed information about every school. In order to narrow down your choices, answer these questions and I'll give you a match(s) for a college...
1. What's your GPA? If you don't know your GPA, search GPA converter and put in letter grades/numbers to see what you get.
2. Are you into making independent type of films or Hollywood, industry type?
3. Does weather matter much for you? Can you live in snowy cold weather or hot, humid weather or both or you just don't care?
4. School size-big or small?
If you have any other important things you feel should be noted, let me know. I like finding schools for other people. And yes, I do know Canadian schools too since I researched them for about a week straight. Hehe.

Thanks for the reply. 1. That’s a hard one as our system is very much different. According to a chart I sorta got 1.6. Which is bad there but over here I’m above average. I cant really calculate this… 2. I’d say more independent but I’m sure that doesn’t matter much? 3. African style. 4. I’m not sure if it bothers me much. Both are fine.
I’m really new to this film school thing so you’ll have to keep that in mind when replying. Also: What do film schools mostly cover in their curriculum?

Hmmm. I guess we'll have to ignore the GPA thing. I don't know what you mean by African style. Do you mean hot weather? I'll give you a list of great independent schools...
-NYU(one of the best indie schools in the US) -Boston University -Emerson College -UCLA(one of the best indie schools in the US) -University of Texas at Austin -York Universiy -Ryerson University -Concordia University -University of British Columbia
Here's ones that are good...
-School of Visual Arts -Columbia College Chicago(open admission meaning anyone can get in)
Film schools cover every aspect of filmmaking. Some schools specialize in areas such as having a separate department for producing or screenwriting. Most have the courses film theory and film history. Theory analyzes different films and talks about mise-en-scene. In history, you go through a timeline from the beginning of film to present day talking about significant events that happened in the industry. If you go to those college official websites, it will probably give you course descriptions for every class. Most do.
