~ So this question is for anyone who has done the programs at New York Film Academy ~ Have any of you (or anyone you know) gotten a job in Film from the courses you took at NYFA? I need to know if its job worthy.
I just left the eight week course there and now I'm prepping my own 16mm short with people I met there. I don't know if it'll make money, it'd be nice but that's not why I'm doing it. I also know a guy who finished two years ago who now has his own production company. If you have the drive you will make money regardless, the school teaches the ABCs of film and working with other people. To get a job you have to be good at shaking hands and charming people more than having a great education, so go out there and smile!
anything where you learn new skills and develop your talents is job worthy! anything challenging where you continually push your limits and expand your boundaries(or perhaps remove them) is job worthy! anything where you interact with new and different people is job worthy!
i'm going to nyfa myself starting the end of this month(one year filmmaking) after wanting to go there since first hearing about it three years ago!
