Need some advice. I am planning on doing a workshop at the NYFA. I am 32 & have always been interesting in every aspect of film making. Do you think I should do it & try to make a career out of it? Is it late? Any words on the courses at NYFA? Thanks for your tips in advance.. Cheers.

You ever pick up a camera? Make a movie? If you have never done anything of that kind, how do you know if its what you want to do? Don't listen to me. If you think this work shop would help you out, then go for it. But if your new to this then it would probably be better to just grab your camera and start cranking out movies. Film school can wait. As to wether or not to pursue film as a career? Well....that's up to you, man.

Hey, I think that's great. No, it's not too late, age-wise. I think the life experiences you gained could help you. And NYFA can be a great program. But, you should be very clear as to what you expect to get out of the program. And more to point, you should be very clear as to how and what you want to do as a career in filmmaking. Neither NYFA nor any other school/program has a guaranteed path to a successful filmmaking career. But it could really help. NYFA will teach, guide and surround you with like minded people to collaborate with (and network). Sure, some people don't need that kind of organization and structure in developing their filmmaking skills, but many do. And if that's worth the price of tuition to you, great. Just remember that in the long run, it's what you get out of the program that will start your career, not the program itself.

I guess you're right, I don't know if I will like it. But I have always wanted to find out. The sure shot way would be to do a quick workshop. Thanks for the tips/advice. Cheers.

Here's a reality check...We're all dead in 80 years if not less. If you're going to fart around on this planet, at least have a good time doing it.
