I'm a high school senior about ready to apply to some schools. Does anyone know of any relatively inexspensive (maybe overlooked) schools with decent or better film undergrad programs?

ryerson university in toronto... though it is just as hard to get into as the most competitive american schools (accepting about 50 out of 1000+ aplicants). it is, however the best university for film in canada IMO...

you know, for undergrad there is a lot of financial aid. You may want to check some of the school's with great reputations that seem out of your budget. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Chapman, for instance nearly covers 90% of undergrad student need--so that might be decently reasonable.

Really? This sounds great to me, because I was very worried about getting scholarships.

Florida State University tuition is only $27000 (including housing costs), but it's very hard to get in as I know. They'll pay more attention to your grades than to your portfolio or creative resume.

P.S. Does anybody know how much does California State University, Northridge cost per year?

Although their program isn't as good as FSU, check out SUNY Purchase, they're also a state school.

CSUN (as with all cal states) are fairly inexpensive-- provided you are a CA resident. Though with the right steps you can get resident status fairly quickly.

Also Cal Poly Pomona has a decent digital media program-- albeit it is a minor. But if you paired it up with english, Theatre, Business, or photography, or computer science you would come out with great fundamentals for just about any MFA program.

Well, I'm applying as international student, so I think I will have to pay more than US citizen. Is it really hard to get into their program? Are test scores and GPA more important for them than creative portfolio/resume like in FSU?
I still can't find information about the exact numbers of tuition and housing costs Frown
