Hi there.

I wanna pick a community college in the LA area to study film production, and then transfer to a top 4-year college.

I'm an international student, so I don't have to chose a community college close to me. I'll be going close to it.

I'm applying to Orange Coast College and LA City College.

Do you have any thoughts on which one is a better option for me? Is there any other community college you'd recomend I look at?

Santa Monica College, aka SMC, is probably the top community college in the L.A. area. I know its the leading community college in terms of transfers to USC and UCLA. I don't know specifically about the film program at any of these places, but I'd definitely check out SMC.

I checked SMC and they do have a film program, although I couldn't find out from the website if it's hands-on or just theoretical.

I'll apply to all 3, and then figure out my best option if it comes to it.

It's all about balancing quality of the film production program vs transferability to a top 4 year college.
