I need some advice and insight. I am only listing my credentials and achievements in hopes of getting some helpful feedback pertaining to my questions, so please don't be rudeSmile I'm only asking for help.

I want to transfer to Tisch. I have always dreamt of being a filmmaker. Here is where I currently am at:

I just recently attained sophomore status at Portland State University finishing my general ed credits. My cumulative GPA is 3.79. Last Quarter I received a 3.92 GPA with 20 credit hours. The quarter before that, I received a 4.0 with 16 credit hours. I have taken a general schedule each term consisting of science, english, psychology, math and econ classes. I even took a few 300 level courses including a philosophy and a english course (both as a freshman.) I am currently an intern with my sudent government and volunteer about 25-30 hours per week. I also held an internship at a Manhattan investment firm that works closely with Morgan Stanley and Bear Stearns for two summers. I have wonderful recommendation letters (including one from the Executive Director of Goldman Sachs who is a very close family friend and has had the chance to watch me grow as an individual, both academically and personally. He attended the University of Chicago and Harvard Business School.) My schedule right now consists of all upper level classes which I have proven to excel in. I am also a member of the NSCS. My problem is I didn't do so hot in high school. I had a GPA in the 2 point range. I also did not take the SAT seriously because I figured that I was going into the arts and didn't need it. Little did I know my career path depends heavily on my school choice. But there were some positives in my high school record. I was heavily involved with key club (winning an achievement award for volunteering over 80 hours during one trimester.), I volunteered as a tutor/mentor, I volunteered for the special olympics, and above all, I was very, very involved with theatre. I was a part of 10 productions at my school and played 8 lead roles. I directed a one-act. I auditioned for a scholarship program for teens in which you train with professionals for a week and perform in an actual Broadway theatre, and won. (I performed in the Imperial Theatre)

I recently applied for transfer admission to NYU Film and I'm wondering if there's any chance I'll get in. I'm also wondering if I should apply for any other schools, and if I can get into any others.

I have no film experience whatsoever. I have a lot of theatre(High school and Off-Broadway in NYC) under my belt (including directing.) I only had 36 hours to film a short completely by myself just recently. You can view the film here ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mkH17cPuj8 ) and see if it's good enough to show admissions counselor's my creative and artistic abilities. Keep in mind I have no film experience and this is only an rough edit. (It's a parody, not meant to be serious.)

Please be honest. I know the film is not great. The reason I want to attend NYU so badly is to get better. I feel it's the best place for providing the skills I need.

Please, lend me your advice!
