Hey I live on Long Island in New York and I was wondering if anybody knew about the nearest film school or summer camp or anything of the sort. I'm in high school and have a few years before college so if there are age requirements for thme please take that into consideration.

Thanks guys!

Whether you are interested in video or super 8 film, you MUST go to the New York State Summer School of the Media Arts (NYSSSA Media Arts for short). It is open to all NY state residents at any grade in high school. 4 weeks on a college campus.....It is very wonderful.

New York Film Academy is another good one that I can vouch for. Check out their website.

Thanks. BTW Ben I've heard quite a bit about that school. It seems amazing. Does it have a website?

Yes it certainly does.

If it were up to me, id take NYSSSA anyday of the week over NYFA....Even though NYFA is in the heart of NYC it is extremley expensive, while NYSSSA is only $1,500 for a month of everything (including room and board) with scholarship oppurtunities. The cost of NYFA is about 10 fold for the same time period, and NYSSSA has some of the most innovative thinkers and creators in computer arts, photography, film and video.

It is more expensive, that's true. But hey, you get what you pay for.
