i'm going to apply for a few film school and universities. I'm thinking of applying to LA Film and i am also thinking full sail, and loyala marymount university. What other schools do you guys recommend for me. My background isn't too great into film i'm going to major in it however i do not have a folio or anything. What do good colleges look for in their students? I'm honestly great new to film. I want to jumpstart this whole thing by applying to college. I have more then an interest in film i would say. I have already gotten into one student film that will be submitted into sundance film festival in fall of 2008. I'm not quite sure what type of education I am going to need to pursue the job of a lifetime in film. I'm not looking at it as a job really. I'm looking at it as a vacation all year even though it requires work and determination. As far as the academic side of the top film schools what should i be looking at providing? my own films? My own screenplays? how long should they be? if anyone is willing to talk to me about what i should do could you please message me on here? i really need help from someone who has been through where i'm at or is doing the same things . Well guys i could use some great help.
Colleges and what academic things will i need. I'm a senior in high school and just figured out what i seriously want to do and don't want to screw up going this way. well any help that you can give would be a great help message me please guys i could use your input.

you will soon discover that filmmaking is very hard work. If you love what you do, then you will always enjoy the work, but it is no vacation.

I respectfully disagree. I go to film school where I pretty much eat, drink, and breathe film. It's hard work, but I feel like every day is a vacation. If you love it enough, he's absolutely right.

Ya you would pretty much have to completely dedicate yourself to making movies. I heard most film schools are very intense.

Try to have fun tho.

Don't take anything seriously or you'll never make it out alive.
