i´m applying ED for tisch and i want to know what are the things that tisch students like THE MOST about tisch and about NYU (not NYC).

what else should I put in the Why NYU and the Why tisch questions???

Dragging heavy stuff for long distances through the streets of New York at odd hours, on little sleep and no food.

The professors are very supportive and approachable. They're happy to take a look at a script you're working on or to comment on a film you're editing. And for the most part their advice and suggestions are really, really helpful.

You should be writing why you want to attend... not why students already there enjoy it... I think they're looking for unique and creative answers. Something to make you stand out!

See, this is a place where you can show them why you are unique. You need to think of an answer that somehow shouts out "I'm different!" and makes you stand out from the rest of the answers. It's tricky, but worth the time it takes to figure out.

Yep. Time to start the BS machine. Clearly, the question that they want answered is not really "why do you want to attend," but more along the lines of "why should we accept you?".

For future applicants..

NYU specifically mentions on their site that they don't give a damn (well, not in these words) about how interested you are in attending NYU, so don't bother putting too much effort into those "why" questions. Just be perfectly honest. I was, at least. =/
