Hey everyone- I'm new to this, so don't chastise me too much
About a month and a half ago, I started shooting a doc based around a local band known as Cowsponge in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. The most notable aspect of the band and the members in it was not only the type of music that they created (known as "dork rock." Think They Might Be Giants, Talking Heads, Devo, Tenacious D, etc...), but the actual mindset they had while making this music. D/FW has such a prevelent and eclectic rock music scene, and though the guys in Cowsponge wanted to shed as much obscurity as they could with their different type of music, they also had a great sense about them on how they took themselves seriously, but not too much so that they appeared pretentious.
I know the description is slightly vague, but I don't want to give too much away just yet. I just sent in a tape of a teaser-trailer for the doc to this site, and it should be up by February 2nd. Anyone who is able to watch it, I'd love any construcive critisism.
Right now, I'm in the middle of organizing and editing. I'll try to give a more detailed description of what I'm doing later once I generate a bit more interest among others in the film. I'll also put out a more comprihensive trailer before I post the full doc.
Sure, jsut let us know when its up, I'll watch it.

Yea, it is, actually. That's inside one of my school's (University of Arkansas) computer labs. I was going to use Adobe Premier on my PC, but I feel that Macs are much more accesable and user friendly, as well as iMovie. Plus, since it's just a doc, it's not like I need to use something as technical as Premier, whcih I'm not that great at using in the first place, anyway.
Thank you. I'm planning on making a much more comprehensive trailer once I get more editing done on the real thing. So far, I've only got the first few minutes of the intro done, so I've got a ways to go.
okay, havn't updated for a while, so I might as well now
Just started working on a short animated segment of my doc. Here's a few in behind-the-scenes shots: (egh...my moustache part of my facial hair kinda disapeared. weird.)
That's about it. I'm a poor college student, so I didn't want to fork out too much money for real paint. A two dollar bottle of white out worked just fine, though.
