Started a whole lot of shooting and editing this past week on my feature "Broken Minds" about a student who gets the chance to relive a day that he lost to post-traumatic amnesia.

Yes, lots of pictures, but I optimized them for web.

Hey you, yea the one with the modem--stop whining and buy Comcast. Loser.

Sweet pics Ben, sounds like a cool concept.

Is that girl in the first still the same girl from your "One Headlight" video? Either way, she's damn good looking.

Keep us updated.

Yes, she's the same girl from the One Headlight video. And yea, I s'pose she is quite good-looking.

Trent, I'm using a Canon GL2 and my 35mm adapter.

Looks cool. Especially with the 35mm adapter.

A little floor spice makes everything nice...

Filming is going really slowly. The people aren't available half the time, which I guess is just a part of student filmmaking. Not to mention that the last scene has to be shot in the rain, so I have to buy rainmakers (yay Home Depot). Luckily my dad has offered to spot me a $100 budget for this thing. Also, someone's supposed to get thrown through a window. Yippee Smile Don't worry, I'll keep you all updated on that interesting effect too.

Apparently they sell fake glass made of sugar, which can be broken easily and safely. You might want to look into that for the window, though I have no idea what it costs.

TD, they typically don't sell sugar glass commercially because it melts easily and has to be used pretty quickly after it's made, or be kept in a refrigerator since it is made of, well, sugar. They do have quite a lot of helpful information on the web about how to make it though, but unfortunately there'd be no way to make a pane of glass as big as I need it. I think I have a safe, effective way of filming it with real glass, however, provided I find what I need.

Sorry, no, I've gotten multiple requests and I'll post my answer here again: she will not be wearing a white shirt. Sheesh. I thought better of you guys.

I was joking. But I'm surprised you didn't get the joke.

Wet t-shirts...? Still not catching on? Do I ha--forget it.

Cane! Sugar!

Yea, I thought it might be a joke but I didn't want to make a sarcastic response if it wasn't. I thought maybe that people were actually sending you PMs asking for her to wear a white t-shirt.

Jokes don't translate well over the net.

I see that you have a still in your school hallway. How did you get that organized? Do you have a full cast coming in at a specified time on the weekend with permission to use the school, or are you just filming during the school day?

I had about 5-10 extras come in and pretend to talk as they walked by. As soon as they reached the outside of the frame, they turned around and walked back into the shot in the other frame.

Right now we've finished about half of the film, and it's due on Tuesday, which is not making me a happy camper. I have to film practically everything tomorrow. The audio is blowing chunks too, but at least that's more "fudgable" than video, which looks great thanks to the adapter.

Filming is finished! Ironically, she is wearing a white shirt in the last scene. But it doesn't rain--sorry.

I edited most of it last night but the audio needs a lot of touching up. It'll be ready for the class on Tuesday and maybe the web on Wednesday but I want to really tune it up for the local film festival next month.
