We got's ourselves camera's from the local TV station in town here, Community 10. We plan to shoot late next week, if all goes half decent.

I saw the stuff we could end up using, and while the quality of equipment is quite suprising, how we can apply it succesfully is going to be rather troublesome.
Like I mentioned, it's a television station. What that means is it's DVR. That's cool. What isn't cool is that these are broadcast camera's. I have no idea how much they weigh yet, but I'm sure it's going to be something that, coupled with the cam's awkwardness, is going to be just to hard to deal with on set. These are not cam's we can pick up and move around. They're designed to sit on a tri-pod and stay there. They're meant for slow pans and zooms.
I believe we're going to try them out before we actually shoot Exaggeration. I need to know if we're doomed before we're on set I feel.
Also, something else that troubles me is that their mic's are more standard vocal mics... something you'd find more acceptable on stage for a presentation or concert, rather than film. I'm not taking away from the mics, because I personally know these ones well, which takes me all the way back to the begining of 2005... when our band practiced there, using a lot of the stations equipment.

It almost seems more feasable for us to shell out a measly little grand or more for a new cam and mic combo. This particular theory though frightens me, because right now, I'm in no position to drop another 2 grand on something.

But if Alex helps me out here... hmm.
