My site at http://plaza.ufl.edu/ekubota/film.html will have continuing updates through the summer on my 25 minute short film, 'Seizon' (Existence). The protagonist is a Japanese soldier left behind after the US invasion of the Philippines.

The photos right now are just digital stills, but I will have some early B&W footage in a few weeks.

This is a good chance to watch a project form from the ground up. I personally don't know how it will turn out, either. The finished film will eventually be sold as a special edition DVD with extensive features detailing production, post-production, and aesthetic elements.

Comments and suggestions welcomed.

Looks really cool man, can't wait to see it. Is this the one that's going to be shot on Super 16?

Regular 16 mm. I was originally going to use super 16 and modified a Bolex, but I ended up buying a Kinor for its excellent optics and reasonable noise level.

I put up some more stills from the fourth shooting day.

No, but the first parts will be (including what I've shot so far).
