Hey guys, I am currently working on my first film and we are split between to titles, so I wondered if you guys could let me know which one you like best. They are both relevant to the story but which has more edge?
RETROGRADE or A DAY IN THE LIFE OF CRIME

I'm not CRAZY about either (Retrograde just sounds like you're trying to use a big word and the other is just long and just not exciting) but I do like Retrograde a lot better. I don't know, I'd have to read the story. At least an outline.

I really don't like either. Retrograde sounds like a bad student action movie and a day in the life of crime just doesn't roll off the tongue.

I like Retrograde better, though it sounds like you're sorta gonna go Memento on your story. If that's what you're doing, I wouldn't want to spoil it from the the title.

Yeah thats exaclty what i was affraid of using Retrograde-it sounds like we are trying to make an ametuer film have the appearance of a feature film. I will rpobably go for A day in the life of crime purley because it fits the story exactly, unless i can come up with tomething else. Thanks for your help guys

"RETROGRADE" sounds non sensicle, and "A DAY IN THE LIFE OF CRIME" sounds like a Sgt. Pepper's rip off (e.g-"A Day in the Life").

I'd reccomend a chill, kick-ass title, like CRIME-DAY.

Come to think of it 'Crime-Day' sound pritty cool... I'd go with it, if it's relevant of course.

Just call it "Day of Crime" but put it in French.

Le jour de Crime

sounds exotic.

EDIT: Better yet, instead of that, make it "Crime of the Day" in French "Crime de Jour" as in "Soup de Jour" (Soup of the Day).

however it would have to be "crime du jour" (meaning "crime of the day") rather than "crime de jour" (meaning "crime of day") Because then people would think you would be doing a bilingual double lame pun on "time of day" and "soup du jour"

A Day in the life of crime, but it really depends what the film is about if it had something to do with gatorade.....go with retrogade, otherwise retrogade sounds a little off the radar for any film title....can u give synopsis or a little about what the film is about to get a better answer ???

you guys do realize that this topic is from november? At this point I would hope that the poor guys would have made the movie, title and all. Why are we talking about this?

hey all samsuperfly here, we have actually finished filming now, although there are still some little bits that need doing. We went with the title a day in the life of crime. The basic story lasts 24 hours, one whole day, beginning at 6am and ending at 6am following 3 different criminal stories which are linked by a single bag of money, they just don't know it, and they never actually see eachother.
