Hello All,

I decided to keep an online journal for the making of my documentary... just to look back on when I'm done. Ohh, and for the lovely imput of all you future oscar winners cruising the forum.

Working title: "GodRock"
Length: 8 to 10 minutes
University: The JMC Academy, Melbourne, Australia
Synopsis: "GodRock" will look at Christian musicians who have made the transition into the mainstream music industry and the effect this has had on their faith and music.

Starting off, this is my 1st year major assignment and will result in the majority of my grade in my prac classes and aswell as, but not as much, my grade in theory.

I am in the pre-production stage at the moment. I am just completing my 1 month mid semester break and the official pre-production stage will start this Monday. I have four weeks for pre-production which is then followed straight away with a 10 week production/post-production period. As you can see the time frame is relatively short (I'm so glad it ain't shorter). This will be my first documentary and my hopes are high for the end result.

The general flow of the doco will go along the lines of interviewing musicians who are relatively big in the music scene at the moment, in Melbourne of course... and maybe Sydney (a good 12 hours drive away... in a different state!) I plan to interview Christians and non-Christians about their attitude to success and their music. My angle, if you could call it that, is that musicians, no matter who they are , will be effected by success, some in a positive light and some... not so positive.

That is the general overview so far, as you can see, I still have a long way to go yet! But hopefully with a few favours (and a lot of prayer) it will all run smoothly...ish.
