Since August I've been hard at working writing and doing prep work my big anticipated film. It will be first full length feature film. I update my online journal frequently about progress making on my project. I have a casting call coming up this winter and the project should be set and ready to be filmed in Spring 2005. If your interested you can follow up on my project.

Here I will post a new journal entry from blog, or you can visit my blog at www.andrewfwood.net for further info and past entries. For now here's my latest entry from andrewfwood.net Thanks.

The film is still being written although the movie is suspense/thriller genre. In this film you won't see any slashing and and intense violence just spooky suspenseful jumpiness. The goal of the film is to create a realistic atmosphere. The film is about an old veteran soldier who died in World War II and was buried on his land after his death. Although some young teens on their summer break head up to their summer home encountering the creepy property and disturbing the ghost of the veteran soldier. You will be able to have a better idea and understanding once the story is done. Keep you updated!

September 16, 2004
Yes, you read the title right... September 30th Dave Sprunt (Assistant Director) and I are planned to head out to old Maggie's Farm along with the reporters from the Carleton Place Canadian. We should be in the October 4th edition of the Carleton Place Canadian. If you don't have your hands on the paper or just don't live around here I will post up the article on the blog.

Now that we've made our first press release in our local paper we plan on stepping up a bit further by sending a press release to some bigger newspapers along with some magazines. If you have any suggestion or idea's that can help promote ourselfves let us know! So far loved ones, friends and the community have been supporting my project so much and I must thank you all! I'll thank you all even more once this project is successful!

I'm planning on having the story all written up by the end of October and shortly I'll lay down a bit of my writing for you all to take look at. That we you can better understand what the project is all about and what I plan on achieving.

On another not Dustin Hall our head of the film crew is working hard on finding the proper people to fill some of our important positions such as lighting and casting. We plan on having a casting call December 18-19 from 1:00PM - Night. One will be held in Ottawa and the other in Carleton Place. These dates are planned but not fully finalized yet. As soon as the application are done you will be able to download them of the site and we will provide full intructions. In the meantime we will also be contacting some casting agencies to hand them some applications to see if there actors/actresses are interested in coming out.

Check back soon as more updates will be flying by... not literally... you know what I mean. Now goto bed kids and learn something.

I really liked the location photos. Old places like that fascinate me! It should make for a pretty creepy atmosphere.

Just be careful - old wells, boards with nails, etc. You don't want the newspaper doing a second interview - from the hospital!

Keep on Trucking
September 22, 2004
I think its about time for update...and I believe many of you would have to agree. I'm sure you wondering what has been going on the last few days. Here's the scoop. I ended up taking Assistant Director Dave Sprunt to the location of Maggies Farm. He was astonished with its area and made him crank out some ideas to imply into our production. We ended up sitting down for a while and drilling out all kinds of twists and ideas. This next week the pen meets the paper as I work hard to get the story complete with the assitance of Dave Sprunt. The more and more we sit down and crank out ideas the better this production seems to get. We don't want to make this your typical horror film, we want to go beyond and make it our own style of suspenseful film. Once the story is done I'll post up an overview.

Today I went to a local printing store and tested out some large posters for posting up in local stores and around the area. The posters turned at very well and was surprised for such a low cost job. The posters will be put up in the area probably around November, in the meantime our main concern is the story and sreenplay. This is the most important part of the whole production. It can have error, it had to be perfect for what we want to achieve.

For the site there has been a few updates such as some more pictures of the location, as well as a mailing list. By joining our mailing list you will be notified of updates on andrewfwood.net. Don't forget to keep passing the word around about our project and we appreciate all the generous comments many have written.

September 30th is our first press release day with the Carleton Place Canadian. I hope to share much about our project and should be a fairly good read. I plan on posting the newspaper article up on the site as well.

Keep dropping by and thanks again.

Up Up and Update
October 05, 2004[

Well last night I was able to call up Glenn J. Lockwood, Author of a book on the history of Beckwith Township. He gave me some advice and further assitance on where to go to try and find the old deeds of the owners of the property. Then from there I can look up further background information on the individuals and possibly integrate it into the story.

Sometime shortly Dave Sprunt and I will be sitting down a again to finish and polish up the skeleton structure for the scipt/story. Then we will be hard at work applying our ideas together to develope a script along with a storyboard.

Shortly I should have some more information about an upcoming casting call probably sometime in December. So stay tuned for that. As well I've had a bunch of people talk to me about my project...its seems that more and more people are finding out about my journey of making this film. Thanks again to all your support and sorry about the short update.

Sleep well my fellow friends.

Project Notes and Finding Glenn J. Lockwood Update
October 02, 2004

I just found out apprently that the Township of Beckwith now has the contact information for Glenn J. Lockwood. This week I plan on dropping by to pick up the information and get in contact with Mr.Lockwood to discuss about some of the history of Beckwith Township and the area I plan on using for the filming. For a refresh, Glenn J. Lockwood is the author of the book "Beckwith: Irish and Scottish Identities in a Canadian Community 1816-1991". This book is filled with very interesting and useful information on the area from cover to cover. As soon as I've been in touch with him I will be sure to post an update on the discussion we had and information I found out.

On another note I wanted to post up a project note. I keep a hand written journal on my project filled with all my notes and ideas. I thought I'd share my theory note for the project. With all do respect any notes provided is my own original content and therefore may not be taken under any circumstances under the copyright law.

Project Note

"Unsual events lead to unexpecting beliefs. In this sort of situation our imagination can take over, altering your views and making you think of the unexpected. When in the end everything flows together and makes it all more clear. Filled with expression from anger, fear, depression and broken hearts between loved one's. Some times our minds can run overboard due to sevre crisis's and changes that may effect our lives. The whole idea that our brain can be minipulated."

This not was a basically theory to help contruct and begin the skeleton for the story.

In the meantime hang tight there's lots coming your way.

Interviewed by the Carleton Place Canadian
September 30, 2004

Local paper, the "Carleton Place Canadian" interviewed Dave Sprunt and I at Maggie's Farm. We sat down with a reporter inside one of the barns discussing about how we first got involved in video work to what our goals and objectives are for Project X. We spent over half an hour discussing the project. The reporter was very polite and very nice. He seemed to be very interested in what we were doing. The article should be out in two weeks and I will post it up on here. Tomorrow i'm going to post up some stuff i've been jotting down on Project X.

While walking down the path we realized the atmospher is alot more spooky and quiet during the fall season. The trees are alot more bare and everything is just a lot more noticable... hopefully we can some how create this similar atmospher in the Spring. Anyways I'm off now going to be picking up a history book on Beckwith Township and hope to learn some more about the area. Stay tuned!
