HAH! I think that's one of my favorite puns ever.

The snobbery comment was a joke and I'm surprised it apparently made sense to anyone but me. Heh, well I'm glad to hear you're not one of the ones I was referring to. I certainly wasn't pointing anyone out specifically as if I actually know who's working on something and who isn't. My point was that, in my experience, a lot of times some of the most critical people don't have the balls to try and make something themselves (ie 99.9% of professional critics in the world). I was really just offering some words of encouragement. Also, I can't remember specifically what any of your posts have said in this thread previous to the one I'm replying to, so I wasn't necessarily talking about you or anyone in particular. And even if I was, all I am is just another inconsequential internet poster, no big deal.

Geez, as a mod you would think a title like Blow Job would grab my attention right away! In regards to the title, it really doesn't matter what it is. Throughout the course of most of my projects, the title changes at LEAST 3-4 times. I would never be that adamant about a title, because the script changes, the idea develops and the concept blossoms into something totally different, thus needing a new name. As for generic ideas and typical "film student" plots - let's be encouraging for the most part. We had the thread to see what we were all working on and VERY few of us are working on things (that have been posted) in comparison to the number of members we have on the site. Granted, the number of active members has been in decline so it's hard to talk percentages. The point is, Mark is working on something that means something to him, when the majority of us aren't. He is intent on finishing it and yes, maybe he's having a hard time justifying his title choice with the majority of the members...but really, he doesn't have to. It's his movie and he can call it what he'd like. Let's leave it at that - no more bickering about the title (puns are allowed though ) Mark, I agree with starting a new thread. PM me if you want me to shut this one down and if you'd like to start fresh. I am interested in seeing it after all the attention it's gotten. I guess there's no such thing as bad publicity?! -Kegan

Christmas spirit. Mark, since you're all the way in Florida, let me know if you need help with anything else. Something like additional dialogue for the script.

Mark, Great attitude! It's good to know you're willing to accept criticism and deal with it, whether constructive or not. Its definitely something we all have to tackle at some point or another. As long as the thread stays clean, it'll stay open. It really was an interesting read to say the least. Keep us posted, Kegan

I worked on the film again today with Michael Barnes, the producer. We looked through the script, cleaning it up a bit and adding a few details in to sharpen the project. This is the first project I am going to story-board... or, at least, plan the shots one by one.
Barnes hooked me up with a nice air soft gun that looks very much like a machine gun. It is very heavy and I felt like a creep taking it into my house from his car. He also gave me a nice black pistol with a silencer/compressor and another silver pistol. The silver pistol is wonderful, as it has a lot more personality than a dirty, black one. I'm going to give it to the main character, Brock.
I also finished up decorating the dining room in my house. Because the film is so short, I have designed each room to be character's all in their own. The decorating experience I had while working at Pier 1 Imports has come in handy, thankfully. The room looks great! I am also designing a "blood gun" with my other friend. All other effects will be entirely digital, give the blood.
Casting is proving much more difficult than I thought, as the film's sucess will rely heavily on the actors I hire. I want "Blow Job" to be a very character oriented piece so it's tough trying to find actors who can stay within the perimeter's of their character but still add a bit of themselves to make it feel more realistic. Thankfully after posting a listing on greenroomorlando.com and other websites, I've received a ton of bites and that should help to find the perfect choice.
I am hoping to begin production next weekend but if not, definitely by June. I also want to get my digital camera fixed so I can upload pictures!

Good to hear you are making progress. Make sure to take some photos? On a different note, the puns never end!: quote: Originally posted by MarkChristmas: Thankfully after posting a listing on greenroomorlando.com and other websites, I've received a ton of bites
