I've seen the same films in the "Review Me!" section on the main page of the site for some time now.

Come on people - lets start reviewing these films! Smile

Hm it seems that the films that are under the Review Me headline are there for a reason...they are just so difficult to review. They are either super lengthy or "experimental" enough that it is difficult to rate them based on the given criteria...

Well the LOTR films have been there for a while - but if enough people watch them and review them...then other films will show up.

I just want to say again that I think the review me thing on the front page hurts the site. It officially puts our worst foot forward. Just a thought but I really think the best should be listed on the front page like the old days, In fact the first time I came to the site I saw Plot Fever because it was a top ten movie and I've stayed ever since!

Plus I think the old "if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all" adage is in effect with the low reviews of busted movies. What's next a section that says "Like Me"

I'd love tosee Top Films on top and below the Watch Me section.

Thanks for your comments - I think that you may be correct.

The problem with having the Top Viewed and the Best Reviewed was that the same ones were always there - thus propagating the Top Viewed.

So would you rather have? "Best Reviewed" and "Review Me", "Most Viewed" and "Watch Me", or "Best Reviewed" and "Watch Me"?

I think REDking is right. Even though I am new I didn't pay attention to the "Review Me", when I found the site.

I think it will be best to put "Best Reviewed" and "Most Viewed"

If you just put "Review Me" beginner filmmakers, as myself, will not pay attention to it. But if you but "Best Reviewed" they will because it will provide them with basic ideas of how a GOOD film will look like, and most people will want to watch movies that are actually good.

If you put "Watch Me" that doesn't tell a person if the movie is good or not, I personally will not watch the movies in that section because I don't like to risk wasting my time on watching movies that I don't know are good. Yet, if you put "Most Viewed" that will tell the viewer that the movies are good and they will be intrigued to watch that movie.

Therefore, I think "Best Reviewed" and "Watch Me" will be best for the site.

Hope I helped a bit :-)

Put back "Top Viewed" and "Best Reviewed" on the main page of the site - "watch me" and "review me" are still accessible from the "Browse Films" menu.

I understand these points and they are perfectly valid.

However, I submitted my film "Heart Attack" two weeks ago and don't have a single review, and I don't feel it is a "difficult film to review", but just that no one has taken the time to review it. I see some films with 30+ reivews, and I can't get one? Even my film from a year ago "Lockdown" has only 5.

I see why you want to skip to the "best films" but I don't think my films are given that shot.

Reading reveiws for my film is one the top reasons I paid to have my film hosted, if I wanted to people to just watch it I would just use YouTube.

Thanks for allowing for feedback,
David

Well - the crazy thing is - the site seemed to get more reviews submitted when it had "most popular" and "best reviewed" on the main page of the site than when it was switched to "review me". I thought it would have been the other way around.

I tweaked it some more and I now have "New Films" and "Best Reviewed" on the left side of the site.

"New Films" is basically "Watch Me" with a different title and "Best Reviewed" is as is.

This seems to be a good merger of the two styles. Let me know what you think.
