Nope - you don't need to.

When exporting from FCP don't use Quicktime Conversion. Simply use Export Quicktime and DV NTSC 48k as the pulldown option. (obviously if it's PAL - choose PAL)

Two forms need to be sent in:

1. The normal submission form - this is so that I have all the info for your film, contact info, cast, crew, description, etc.

2. The entry form for the contest.

This information is on the contest entry form as well as the Short Film Contest Page.

I will send a submission if there is a deadline extension...

I sent mine off this morning, hopefully shouldn't take too long to receive from the UK

Its a shame, I would've had this done two weeks ago if I hadn't gone on vacation. I'm really disappointed. If you can consider a deadline extension I would only need until August 30th.

i sent mine out this afternoon, priority mail.

yeah i was gonna edit it yesterday but since i had my teeth pulled i have been unconcious for like 16 hours.

so a deadline extension would be nice, i will be able to film what i wasnt able to and turn in a decent project.

I MUST DO THIS!
