I'm thinking of putting together a section of the site that has a collection of articles written by filmmakers for filmmakers on topic such as cameras, film festivals, films schools, etc...
Please include a sample of your work and/or an article of yours that you think would be great for the site.
Article ideas could be reviews of cameras or filmmaking equipment that film students use or even your experience applying, visiting, and/or attending film schools. I open to any ideas that you might have as well.
I could write a walkthrough on the fundamentals of editing, the two main classical theorists, basic ground rules to follow, etc. I don't have any samples of my non-fiction written work since I haven't written for papers or anything like that, but I have plenty of fiction writing.
I'm always trying out new equipment, even if its only for a day. this could be fun!

i am incredibly good at ripping things apart. If you want sincerely negative reviews of some of the classics i can do it. For example....a film history teacher gave us an assignment to write a review of 8 1/2 (her favorite movie, and a movie i cherish)....to have a little fun i decide to rip it, and in doing so inspired her renounce 8 1/2 as her favorite movie.
i'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal labotomy

I just want you all to know that we can't get this idea off the ground until we get some good stuff from you guys. So everyone who's interested: write something and send it! Help us help you!
I have an idea on a topic which comes up quite often: compressing video for streaming. Can an article include screenshots and links if I get everything web-ready ready?

Perry, wouldn't that article be a conflict of interest? I'm not saying it wouldn't be a bad article, just it would undercut the money making side of this site.
I don't see how it would be a conflict of interest, seeing as Chris does the encoding for this site anyway. It's not like it's a big secret how he does it, either.
