Wow, I'm feeling pumped now that I've got a job back. LBMG is the group I'm in "Lost Boys Media Group". Just so long so I have to cut it down I'm thinking about buying 2 cheap cars for our short. Just something we can destroy, muhahaha (Not explosions, I mean destroy as in paint and etc.)

Chris, you mentioned music, but there's all other sorts of things that could get you in trouble if you distributed it without getting the proper permission. Talent, trademarks and trademark-able locations, certain hand props (i.e. maps), paintings/artworks, etc. I'm you already know this, but I thought it's worth reminding anyway. We recently got sued by a Map company for using their map in a project. So they're out there watching. I think I mention somewhere in the submission form where one signs that they have gotten permission to use all material in the film...not just music. And Tanner...please...requesting there not to be nudity or excessive swearing is NOT censorship. -Chris Studentfilms.com

Does it have to exactly hit the 5 minute mark or is there a margin of (for the lack of a better word) "error"?

So, lets say theres 5 seconds of black before and after the movie, but the movie itself was actually 5 minutes. You wouldn't count the black would you? (I only ask, because I got disqualified once in a contest because of that )

Of course I wouldn't count the black. I count from first frame of picture or sound until the last. -Chris Studentfilms.com

It has to include "a road", so yes - I guess a painting or photo will be ok. -Chris Studentfilms.com

*also raises hand* I can't promise - but I REALLY want to. Mine won't be in until the day of the deadline though, I'm just like that. | PerryKroll.com | TRC | "If not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled." Wodehouse

I just thought up a question: can my friends and I all sumbit on one tape? We will clearly define where one movie ends and another begins.

I don't see how that could be a problem. Yes, you may submit on one tape - but the entry/hosting fee is still per film. -Chris Studentfilms.com

The movie has to be under 5 minutes. 5 minutes is the maximum duration. -Chris Studentfilms.com
