Back when I got studentfilms.com flyers after sending in my Washington video, I posted one on the bulletin board in the video editing room in my school, but I don't think it's caught anyone's attention yet, unfortunately.

However, I did post flyers at that time in a couple supermarkets in my area, and I do know a few people who are pursuing filmmaking who I could tell about the site...

This is turning into the Wizard of Oz. Chris is the Wicked Witch of the West and we're his flying helper monkeys out to do his bidding!!!!

Well if you guys don't feel comfortable yelling "STUDENTFILMS.COM" to random people, or putting up those paper ads no one reads, try this-

On talk radio shows, especially the political ones, it takes too much time to fake a conversation to blurt out "Goto studenfilms.com" so instead find out which one of these programs in your area has a thing called, well, I don't know what the name will be but its like a portion of the show where they just let people say what's on there mind for 5 or 10 seconds. Talk about anything, usually its about the war or the economy or the countries fat people or whatever. So you find the show and this "free speech" block (and I know its on at least 1 talk station in every city, they all have the same format if they're clearchannel or whatever) and basically just call up. They won't screen you at all, they just put you on air when its your time. But heres the thing, they'll cut you off if your first words are loud or commanding, indicating your trying to endorse something, which you are, so here is what you do. Start off like "Young people today would'nt be getting into as much trouble if they went to places like STUDENTFiLMS.com on the NET*(by this time you've been cut off)

So try that my friends, or perhaps somewhere else with more people.

My 2 friends in theatre reached nationals in the Jr. Thespian Society competition for their duet pantomine skit, which I did sound design for. Somewhere around 8,000 theatre people will be watching the Mainstage area, and theres a good chance our group will perform on it. So at that time, they get to do a 10 second intro, -Hey I'm Jared Doreck, I'm Matt Lusk, and our piece "Fun with Fellas" has sound design from Chris Will of the online festival Studentfilms.com- That's just another slick idea to get this site out there, and with a croud of directors and newcoming actors, i'm hoping that even a handfull of them will log on and who knows how many will reach out to the filmmakers on here some way or another.

Let's all try to get the name out, this place can be the next ifilm.com... without the excessive ads, but you know what I mean. Hopefully I'll be able to do my part later this month.
