First of all I want to say that after about a year's absence its great to be back on the forums! You guys have been great to me in the past, and I thank you for it. I hate for my coming back post to be me asking for more help, but Im kinda in a tight spot.

For the Broadcasting class Im taking now, were supposed to be doing a character-driven comedy, and I think i got a couple characters down, my only problem is coming up with an actual plot line. So far its this:

A young man moves out to the middle-of-nowhere, Tennessee for his senior year in high school and has no friends. He grew up in a pretty wealthy town so he has trouble coping with the new community. After a while he gets a job working the night shift at the local Kroger (or other big chain grocery store) where he meets a really goofy, fun loving girl and a crazy wanna-be redneck, and they all basically goof off all night together while stocking shelves and cleaning and stuff. And thats really all i got so far. I was kinda leaning towards making it more about the grocery store than his time in school, I think its because the whole "move to a new highschool" thing has been used a bunch, so if you have any ideas for it they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again guys!

I'm gonna' tell you'se da truth.

I like it. It's not terribly original mind you, but I enjoy the idea of them playing around in the store.

It's basically 'Garden State' in a grocery store, right... yeah.

I do agree. No one cares about school. I don't wanna' hear about that anymore. Your choosing to focus on their "free time" though was a good idea.

I know I'm not offering any ideas, but that's only because I think you have a decent idea right there.

I don't know... maybe for the climax, you have them knock over a bunch of food products and have them clean it up under the clock, before the manager returns from his break.

And limit your exposure of the new guy on the job dealy with unruly customers. It's funny, and I can personally relate to it, but... we know what to expect. Enough's enough.
