I think that's a really, really strange question to ask. Since when is there a set amount of shots for a given amount of time? That seems dumb to me. The amount of shots completely depends on the film and the style and lots of other factors.
Whether your film is 185 shots or 1 shot, it shouldn't matter. Do whatever feels right for YOUR film.
I completely agree with JW. Everyone's always complaining about how there's nothing new and all movies are the same now. Well maybe it's because we have these stupid "guidelines."
Do whatever you feel is right to make your movie the best that it can be. Don't restrict yourself with things like that.
i forgot who. maybe Renoir. some olden times french director had something like 100 frames in about thirty seconds. you can't even see some of them since they flash by so fast.

If you can get at least 3 minutes in the can without cutting away, that's just as impressive as 10 seconds. Like JW said, it really just depends on the film's feeling.
