I am writing my first script currently unfinished. It's a short. Although it'll be nice to see it as audio visual, I have no specific plans. I have no equipment (except a Polaroid Studio 4 camera), crew, actors in mind, or money. I do have a small amount of money I'm saving for an if then occasion in film (maybe a better camera). With that said is this pre-production or am I just writng a script?

I believe anything before the actual shooting (production) is preproduction. So even though you only have the script going for you so far, it is preproduction. You have also at least considered what you need to do, so that is also preproduction. It shows you are at least thinking ahead, which is important. What you do with your script is up to you from here. You can choose to produce the film yourself (it is possible on no budget, but the script must allow for it) or you can try to sell it to another filmmaker. Personally I think you should try to make it yourself. Even the best writers may not have success selling a script. You may find other new filmmakers that need a script but can't pay for it, and that may work for you too, just to at least get your name out.
It's our job as Christians to get the word out about Him. Who have you talked to about Jesus today?

I disagree, he says he has "no specific plans" right now so to me that means he's just writing a script. Once you start to plan something or get the ball rolling with actors, money, storyboards etc. then I would consider that pre production.

part of the pre production stage is figuring out if production is possible. Which is why when somebody asks what your current project is, you can always tell them something, because your always in pre production. Even if he didn't have a script and just had a few thoughts and ideas on a piece of paper, it is pre production. Very primitive, but still . . .

I've decided to think of myself only in the writing stage.
Anyways I'm still writing this script. I'm almost finish. One thing is bothering me. In the story two different scenes are taking place in two different kitchens. How do I let the reader know this in scene heading. This goeas for other types of rooms and scenes also. I wouldn't like confuse the reader.

I'm almost through with the second draft. This was kind of a challenge changing things and all. I've been cutting out whole conversations and actions and replacing it to make it flow better. Well I'm sure that's not any difference from ya'll do.
As a student filmmaker, do you take any legal ownership for your script or films?
