My friend and I recently submitted a concept animatic for the Radiohead music video contest. We weren't selected for the semifinals, but we are still considering working on it over the summer. The animation technique is to be traditional hand-drawn animation (possibly based on 3d mockups for reference) with acrylic-painted backgrounds and effects. Ambitious but we might try it.
In the meantime we would love feedback on the storyboard animatic, in terms of direction, cinematography, editing, etc. Care to take a look?
Dude! For my 2 cents worth......I love it! Love your use of perspective. I really dig what happens at 3:10 in the slow dreamy break and then the pick up again a 30 secs or so later at 3:49. I like the camera leading around from the first person perspective on the ledges and cliffs (the sequence in ocher). Great use of color. I actually liked the mixed media of pencil and acrylic. It inspired me to want to learn how to draw. Love art but can't draw.... Love yer work though.

Hey, thanks so much! The coloring is actually just photoshop in this version, the acrylic is to be the final frame-by-frame render, if we get around to it.
As for art -- take life drawing classes! You might be surprised with what you're capable of.
