I am just starting out in making my own movies but all I have is a Sony 8mm Handycam.

I was wondering what would be an inexpensive Digital Camera that I could use to shoot with.

Pleas help.

Welcome! Where is Jones County? Smile

Is that name supposed to be Galadriel (like from Tolkien)? Or is this something totally different? anyways...

how inexpensive are you talking about? The Canon ZR series generally seem to be the weapon of choice for low budget student filmmakers. A little higher is the Optura. But what price range are you in?

Search e-bay for digital camcorders, and find one thats in your price range. Then do some research on the product, its features, etc. That's what I did, it's the cheapest way to go. I payed $127.50 including s&h for a hitachi digital 8 that works great and is sold at a retail price of $700. Just make sure the seller is reliable and trustworthy.

Jones County is in the middle of southern Mississippi. Yeah, it sucks. I hate it, I want to leave.

But anyway, my budget is about 1200 bucks. I am a broke college student.
