Long ago someone now far gone mentioned to me that if two master swordsmen meet in battle there would only ever be two outcomes to the encounter, It would be over before it began or it would continue for ever as each swordsman would be able to block, parry and trap the others attack instinctively. My battle with time has been continuing for many years, and this one encounter was definitely never avoided.


Opening credits.

INT- Security Building
We see a small room with a desk and a bored looking security guard sitting behind it.

JAX
I am here to collect the bounty on this here man...

OFFICER
Ahhh could it be (the officer stops to examine the prisoner) the infamous Lieutenant Resonix him self...

the officer looks to Jax

OFFICER (CONT)
Pass him here

Jax pushes the lieutenant towards the officer.

OFFICER
What's your hunter code?

JAX
12112177

The officer brings up a computer console and types the numbers in.

OFFICER
The bounty has been processed you may leave.

We see Jax walk out the door as the Officer walks away with the lieutenant.

INT Econ- Cockpit

BEXTA
Did it go through?

JAX
Yep

TONIC
How much?

JAX
200 Credits

TONIC
200 Credits? That will bearly buy us dinner tomorrow and the new kalibrolator that we need for this rust bucket.

Tonic stamps his foot on the ground signifying he was speaking about the ship

JAX
Meh its the best we can do at the moment

BEXTA
We need to find someone with a huge bounty on their heads, big enough that we can get some new gear and so we can buy a place to stash our stuff and sleep while we aren't on a mission! We can’t sleep in the ship forever.

JAX
We’ve discussed this before, anyone worth anything is to dangerous for us to go after

TONIC
It’s worth it higher pay for a little more work

JAX
Is that what you’re going to be saying next time I have to save your arse when the emperor sends his men after us?


Tonic shrugs

BEXTA
We need some new weapons as well guys, the power cell in my pistol is nearly dead and the rifle I have keeps jamming.

TONIC
We could try rigging the power cells up to the ships engine to charge them again

BEXTA
What and get us all killed?

Bexta looks to Jax he just raises his arms in a “I don’t know” kind of way.

BEXTA
hmmmf Boys will be boys.


EXT Econ.

The Econ is a black sleek military looking ship. It is rather large, and looks rather expensive.

TONIC
The Kalibrolator is installed we should be good to go, the sooner we get out of this disgusting city the better.

JAX
I was born here you know, it wasn’t always this bad.

BEXTA
Ack looks like trouble

6 police officers run into the hanger bay


OFFICER 1
You are all under arrest for the trading of an illegal bounty. You do not have any rights and you are to submit immediately to us any weapons you may be in possession of.

Officer 2 walks up and begins to handcuff Jax but Jax retaliates by back handing him in the face. All three bounty hunters pull out different guns and begin firing at the guards, one guard pulls out an emp gun and fires at them, their guns stop working so the three of them drop their guns and pull out their side arms and begin firing back but the guards have shields. Bexta gets shot with the emp gun and falls down. Tonic shoots a guard in the head and begins grappling with another one. The four remaining guards surround Jax.

The first guard throws a punch Jax wrist locks him, takes him to the ground and stomps on his head. The second pulls a gun on Jax as the third runs in to tackle him. Jaxs roundhouse kicks the gun out of his hand and then back kicks the third guard. (at this point we hear a scream come from Tonic off screen) Jax double lapel grabs the second guard the guard pulls Jax’s hands off and then Jax cuts down and suwatte gidans him. The the 4th guard and the one whom was kicked down each pull out a nightstick. The forth guard trys to wack Jax around the head he blocks and disarms the officer and then knee caps him. The last guard begins attacking Jax, Jax blocks the attacks disarms the guard and snaps his neck.

Tonic is standing over Bexta.

TONIC
She's ok it was only set to low Stun.

JAX
Your shoulder?

Tonic looks down at his shoulder,

Tonic
It looks worse than it is I think. I’ll fix it up once we get outa here.


JAX
Get Bexta onto the ship. I’m going to search the cops for anything valuable they might have, and take the power cells out of their guns, at least theirs will be charged.


INT Econ Cockpit

TONIC
I’ll take her up to 4000 feet for a while, if we had a base of operations we could just set her down instead of always being on the move we really should look into it...

JAX
How will we pay for a house? to everyone else we are just 17 year old's with no money and a rather illegal ship.

Bexta walks into the cockpit rubbing her head.


TONIC
How ya feeling?

BEXTA
Not to bad just got one killer headache, how long was I out?

TONIC
Not long, just under an hour.

JAX
Now that we are all present and accounted for, I’ve had an idea that could solve our cash flow problems (beat) for a while.

Bexta sits down.

JAX (CONT)
How about we run a few of the Emperors bounties? The pay out is huge.

BEXTA
Apart from the fact that all their bounties are on innocent rebellion members and civilians who have committed no more of a crime than speaking out about a government as corrupt as something out of the 16 hundreds.

TONIC
But at close to twenty thousand credits a pop we would only need to complete one bounty and we could easily buy a place to live and park this ship.

BEXTA
How about mars? I’ve always wanted to live on mars...

TONIC

If they ever get the space ways back up we may be able to. Earth has been cut off from the other planets for like nine months now I think.

JAX
Well now that you all agree, I have the perfect target lined up. (jax brings up a screen) Youira Garin he was a defector of the Emperors army an ex general and veteran of the space way wars.

TONIC
But the space way wars were 60 years ago.

JAX
Yep the guy is close to 80 years old.

BEXTA
and the bounty still stands?


JAX
Yeah I guess he holds valuable information and the emperor still needs it

BEXTA
Sounds like a lot of money how much is he paying?

JAX
Twenty Five Thousand

TONIC
It’s settled then

EXT Street

JAX
Let’s go in and talk to TJ he might just be able to help us out

INT Bookstore

The bookstore they enter is raither small and is stacked to the rim with old looking books.

BEXTA
Wow people still buy books?

TJ walks out of the shadows

TJ
Yes young lady a lot of people still like to feel smell and read a book raither than stare absent mindedly at a screen for hours on end.

TJ(CONT)
Jax my young friend, what trouble have you gotten yourself into now?

JAX
What can you tell me about a guy called Youira Garin?

TJ
ahhhh, I haven’t heard his name been thrown around for a while, you in for the bounty are you?


The crew look at TJ

TJ(CONT)
uh lets see, hes an ex imperial officer, perhaps the best martial artist since the old days, no one knows exactly how old he is, a few people have told me that they knew the guy for ten years and he didn’t age a day, he would be close to 80 now, I don’t think anyone has heard from him in close to 30 odd years since he gave up his “freedom fighter” days

TONIC
He went through a freedom fighter stage? is that why the bounty is on his head?

TJ
Oh yes, he has a merry band of about thirty mean roaming around causing chaos and generally pissing off the emperor in any way possible, good on him I say. and no not even I know what the bounty is for, the emperor does not need a justified reason to want a man dead.

JAX
So how do we find the guy?

TJ
Once every month, he sends a teenage kid in to collect him supplies, food, clothes you know the drill. The kid likes to talk and for a little cash you could probably follow him back and find out where Youira stays.

JAX
This kid when is he due in?

TJ
Ummmm he generally shows up around the 8th of every month so three days time?

BEXTA
What does he look like?

TJ
Long hair, quite built for a young person, you’ll be able to tell him from a crowd easily, he stands out.

JAX
Sweet , Hey TJ could I get you to optimize my Gun and armor again for me aswel?

Jax passes his gun to TJ, TJ picks it up and twirls it around cocks it back and looks down the sight.

TJ
For you Jax, I’ll do anything.



INT Econ

TONIC
Why does that TJ fella like you so much?

JAX
I spent 5 years working with him. He taught me everything I know.

BEXTA
He’s a bounty hunter then?

JAX
Used to be, before he had his knees blown out by an angry customer with a nice big gun.

BEXTA
Oh what happened?

JAX
Dunno but TJ let the guy kneecap him. Used his upper body to pull himself up onto the dude and proceeded to beat the living daylights out of the poor bastard.

BEXTA
I can see why you and him get on so well.

EXT Street


The crew sit in a quiet street at a table drinking from strange looking cups.

Jax looks over to an old looking building.

JAX
That’s the place TJ said this kid would be shopping at again. Remember to stick to the plan.

TONIC
I guess now we just wait huh?

BEXTA
Dosn’t look like we are going to have to there he is.

A teen dressed in old samuraish type robes walks down the street


The bounty hunters get out of their seats and begin crossing the road, reaching the kid before he enters the store.

JAX
Running errands for Master Youira now are we?

KID
How do you know that name

JAX
I hear he is a great Martial Arts master, all I wish is to meet and perhap receive some training.

KID
Youira is a very busy man he would not have time for such things.

JAX
Look kid, What’s your name?

KID
Cian

JAX
Look Cian, I have traveled for 4 months straight trying to track down master Youira, It would be ever so wonderful if I could speak to him for at least 10 minutes.

CIAN
Do you have your own ship?

JAX
Of course

CIAN
Help me carry his stuff back to your ship then, we will fly it back to Youira’s house and I will ask him if you can speak to him.

JAX
Thank you.

INT ECON

TONIC
The ship is on auto pilot, we should be there in about 25 minutes

JAX
How did you meet Youira?

CIAN
Um he just approached me one day and asked if I’d like to run a few errands for him. He pays me well so thats all I’m really worried about, other than that we dont socilize much.

JAX
So you don’t know what sort of condition the old man is?

CIAN
Well the old man could quite easily run circles around all of you, im sure of that.

JAX
Hmm sounds like my kinda guy.

CIAN
How did you find out about Youira, I thought he was well hidden.

JAX
An old martial arts mentor of mine mentioned that if I wanted to learn how to really fight, to seek him out.

CIAN
I see... I guess thats ok then.


Cut to cockpit

TONIC
We are coming down to land, fasten your seat belts.


The ship rocks back and foward.


EXT outside forrest

They are walking through a forrest Cian leading the others carrying his stuff.
they clear the forrest and look down at some farmland with a small house in the middle.

CIAN
Thats his place down there. You three stay here. I will get him to come up and meet you here.

Cut

Same scene. The crew are sitting on the ground.

Cian approaches them.

CIAN
He does not want to speak to anyone at this time, I suggest you leave immediatly.

JAX
No,
(Pulling out his gun)
I suggest you take us to him right away.

CIAN
Put the gun away right now.

JAX
No
CIAN
You leave me no choice then.

Cian approaches Jax.

Jax fires several shots at Cian, his shirt gushes with blood twice. Cian keeps aproaching and kicks the gun out of Jaxs hand.

Bexta and Tonic aproach Cian he punches Tonic in the gut and kicks Bexta’s leg out.

Jax and Cian commence fighting.

( FIGHT GOES HERE )


Cian kicks Jax square in the chest.


CIAN
So at least you were not lyeing about your martial art skill, I’ll give you that.

JAX
How, how did you beat me?

CIAN
Well, with 500 years to practice. This old man should be able to.

JAX
Your Youira?

CIAN
Yes, although I haven’t gone by that name for oh, at least 30 years now.

JAX
How though..... your supposed to be 80 years old.

YOUIRA
Hmmm some people say 80, some 300... In reality i’ve lost count...

YOUIRA
You seem pretty on to it, come down to the house have a coffee, I’ll explain it all to you, bring your friends, I didin’t hit them that hard, they should be able to walk.

JAX
I just shot you twice.... aren’t you angry?

YOUIRA
No doubt you like the countless others before you, were after the bounty... There is something different about you though. The shots will not be fatal. Come on

JAX
I suppose.


INT YOUIRAS HOUSE

They are all sitting around a coffee table.

YOUIRA
My name is Youira Garin, I was born on October the 11th 1989 which makes me roughly 610 years old.

JAX
How? the oldest person on earth is 112....

YOUIRA
As I was saying, when I was 15 years old my father whom was a military scientist took me to meet with a group of scientist and presidents of many different countries. I was injected with special nanobots that would make it impossible for me to die... I was humanitys last hope. The politions at the time were scared of everything, nuclear war, asteroids crashing into the earth, aliens invading and god knows what else. and anything short of the sun going supernova would not kill me.

TONIC
I see what your getting at, but where do you find the undead babe to repopulate the world with?

YOUIRA
Apparently there was a 15 year old girl whom went through the same process as I did.

JAX
Someone chops off your head would that not kill you?

YOUIRA
Pass me a knife

Jax pulls a knife out of a scabbard on his pants
Youira runs it slowly through his hand,( we see his face wince in pain) till it reaches the middle as he cuts the wound heals behind the knife, and the knife remains in the middle of his hand as though it has been stabbed there.

BEXTA
So you obviously still feel pain?

YOUIRA
I have felt more pain in the last 600 years than you would be able to comprehend.

JAX
That still dosen’t explain why you haven’t aged...

YOUIRA
Oh I have grown older mentaly if not physically... I have perhaps the body of someone your age, what 17? The nanobots can not stop aging, just slow it down... But 2 natural years out of the 600 non natural ones is not to bad.

JAX
Why are you spilling your guts to us, now after 600 years?...

YOUIRA
The emporer of earth, has outlived his stay, he needs to be taken down and a new government system has to be put into place.

JAX
I hate the emperor as much as you, but what gives you the right to change the system?

YOUIRA
The fact that no one else is doing anything about it. Everyone on this god forsaken planet is a conformist, its not like the old days when people would actually stand up for what they beleive in.

BEXTA
I’ll help you.

YOUIRA
I appreciate the offer, but I’d need all three of you for the plan to work.

TONIC
I’m not much of a fighter, but I can help

JAX
Hmmm well I suppose its a team decision, we better get some money for it though. Considering there is absolutley no way that we would be able to capture you for the bounty any more.....

YOUIRA
Ahhh young man, that is where you are mistaken.


INT- Security Building
The same guard from the beggining of the movie is standing behind the desk.


Youira is handcuffed and struggleing around.

JAX
This is Youira Garin I am here to collect the bounty on him...

OFFICER
If he is the man you claim he is I have exclusive orders to take him to the emporer immediatly.

JAX
I guarantee you this is him.

OFFICER
I have been told how to verify if it is him or not.

The officer pulls out a gun points it at Youira’s hand and fires, a hole appears in it where the bullet penitrates. The hole immediatly heals.

OFFICER
You three come with me as well the Emperor will wish to thank you personally.

The Officer slaps a metalic device onto Youira’s Head.

YOUIRA
HEY

He trys to kick the officer, the officer steps back and presses a button on his wrist band.
Youira crumbles to the ground in pain.

OFFICER
Don’t try that again.
You will need to surrender all of your weapons before we go into the emporers chambers. Leave them here you can pick them up when we return.

TONIC
Not something bounty hunters are likley to do. How are we supposed to know that you won’t just blow us to bits as soon as we put them down?

OFFICER
Beleive me, if the emporer wanted you dead, you would already be long gone!

BEXTA
Ha yeah right!

JAX
Guys don’t worry, we should be able to handle ourselfs with out our toys for a while at least.

The start stipping off their arsenal or weapons.


EXT.day THE EMPS “CASTLE”



We see the 5 of them approaching the huge building of the emporers. They enter the building through sliding doors.

INT.Day The Emps “Castle”

They walk through metal detector things in single file. Tonic walks through it and it starts beeping a number of guards run out rifles raised.

OFFICER
I told you to remove all of your weapons!

TONIC
I did you fool.

Tonic checks himself out looking for any weapons he may have forgotten, he looks at his hand which still has a ring on it.

TONIC
Hmmm forgot about that one!

He takes off the ring and drops it onto the bench next to the detecter, the guards return to their posts and the crew continue walking.

INT. OFFICE RECEPTION AREA.

A robot is standing behind a reception desk.

ROBOT
How may I help you?

OFFICER
We are here on the order of operation 46930.

ROBOT
Of cource Sir, you may take your prisoner through to the emporer immeditly

INT.EMPS OFFICE

They aproach the emporer who looks a lot more like a buisiness man than an evil person.

BEXTA
You’ve got to be kidding me! Why does this pushover have control of earth?

EMPEROR
My friend, sometimes the ability to pick out a good suit, construct a gramaticlly correct sentence and knowing when to smile and nod will get you far in life.

The Emp gets up from his seat and begins walking down the stairs.

EMP
After all these years, I dinally get to come face to face with the great Youira Garin.

YOUIRA
The pleasure is all yours....

EMP
You three captured him?

JAX
Yes...

EMP
Then please stay as my guests, I must have the opportunity to speak to you. Perhaps we will have dinner tonight. But for now please go talk with my secretary outside, it will assure that you recieve your payment.



EMP(CONT)
Officer you can return to your post

The officer nods, the four of them leave.

The doors close behind them,the emporer pulls a remote form his suit pocket points it at the door and we hear a locking noise.

YOUIRA
What do you want me for, I havent caused havoc in your world for years.

EMP
In complete honesty I had all but given up on ever finding you. I had my scientists developing other ways of gaining insight into immortality.

YOUIRA
I can’t help you,I was young when I went through the process. I don’t remember what happened.

EMP
Don’t worry about that all I need is your blood. I have read your files from back in the 1900’s. I know everything there is to know about you Youira. Infact I know its probably part of your idealistic crusade that you are here to try to kill me right now, three amatuer bounty hunters would have never managed to restrain you would they?

EMP(CONT)
Now if you would please step over here?


The emporer motions to a place on the floor beside him.

YOUIRA
Never!!!

Youira dives at the Emporer only to hit an energy wall between them, Lightning surges around his body and he falls to the ground...

EMP
How predictible
The Emp pulls out a needle and takes a blood sample from Youira, he immeditly injects it into himself. He pulls out the needle and the wound heals.

The Emperor walks out of the room, Youira lyeing unconcious on the floor.
He speaks to the droid in the lobby.

EMP
Where did our three friends get to?

DROID
They went back to their ship to sort out some matters.

EMP
Send down a squad to detain them immediatly.

INT: Lobby Room

Jax, Tonic and Bexta are walking at a fast pace back to their ship.
Tonic walks up to the guard behind the counter.

TONIC
Can I have my ring back?

GUARD
Certainly Sir.

As the guard passes him the ring he raises his other hand to the headset in his ear. Tonic quickly grabs the ring.

GUARD
Sir you are going to have to return that to me.

Two dozen guards storm into the room.

GUARD
Drop It!

Tonic holds the ring up and fires it at the guards head, the red jewl on the end of the ring shatters as a bullet blasts out of it. He drops the ring next to the guard.

TONIC
You can have it back now.

FIGHT GOES HERE.


All the guards are dead on the ground, the three teens, pick up some weapons.

BEXTA
Well obviously they knew we were up to no good.

TONIC
and obviously Youira is in trouble as he hasn’t given us the signal yet.


The three turn around and make their way towards the emporers chambers.


INT. EMPS CHAMBERS.

Youira is handcuffed in the emporers chair in the middle of the chamber.


EMP
You made a mess of those guards down there, I guess I really underestimated the three of you.

The Emporer begins advancing towards them, they all raise their guns and begin fireing at him. He continues walking getting hit, but healing instantly. He grabs Bexta and throws her across the room, he grabs tonics gun and pistol wips him with and and fires 3 rounds into his chest. Jax is standing about three meters away from him, he drops his gun and begins fighting with the Emp.

[FIGHT GOES HERE]

Jax gets completly owned. The Emporer pushes him back into a wall which has two swords hanging on it, the Emp draws the sword and begins thrusting at Jax.
Cut to. Youira in the chair, his eyes open and he looks up, he looks down at his handcuffs and lets them slice his hands as he pulls them off himself.

Cut back to Emp.

The emp slices Jax’s arm off and Jax falls to the ground. He brings the sword up about to kill Jax when Youira stops him with the other sword from the wall, [FIGHT GOES HERE] ( Lots of slashing at each other and healing ) Youira stabs his sword into the Emp, grabs a gun kicks the emp back into a wall and begins fireing at his face.

Youira picks up the needle of the ground and injects it into Jax withdrawing some of his blood, while still fireing at the emps face.

He walks closer to the emp slams the needle into his face, and injects jax’s blood into him.

The Emp falls to the ground, Youira pulls the sword out of his chest, the wound does not heal, and then slices the emps head off.

He runs over to Jax withdraws some of his own blood and injects it into him, he puts jacks arm back where it should be and it heals, Jax slowly wakes up, Youira does the same for Tonic and Bexta.


BEXTA
I hate this place, lets get out of here.


INT- Econ

JAX
So how exactly did you defeat the Emperor?

YOUIRA
He seemed to think that injecting my blood into himself would make him immortal, It did for a while, but I knew that there was no chance we would have the same blood type due to the fact that blood types have changed so much since the 1990’s. The Nanobots worked in him at first, but eventually his body would start to reject them. While you were out of it, I with drew some of your blood and injected it into the emperor which speed up the rejection process significantly.

TONIC
You injected the Nanobots into us aswell?

YOUIRA
With out them you would be dead, although I have no doubt that your body will also reject them with in the next day or so.

JAX
So after that we will be back to our normal selfs?

YOUIRA
Honestly I wouldn’t know, I’ve never had to do this before.

BEXTA
What are we going to do now?

JAX
Well we now happen to have twenty five thousand credits sitting in our account, how bout we get a new engine put in this thing and go traveling, now that we have enough money to buy supplys we won’t even have to worry about the space ways.

TONIC
(looking at youira)
Are you going to come?

YOUIRA
Hmmm, I’m sure the people of Earth can’t dig themselfs into a bigger hole than it has in the past, I guess I’ll hang around for the ride.

BEXTA
How about mars? I’ve always wanted to go to Mars!
She gives a cheesy smile

Stop being so anxious. There's a good chance that just about nobody is as passionate about your script as you are. Most scripts written by students (and thus, posted here) are long, tedious, poorly written and boring, so excuse us if we don't have the patience to sit down and read 4,634 words of yours. Odd, isn't it--that someone doesn't have the time to read 21 pages of what sounds like another C-grade sci-fi flick with Bruce Campbell? Yes, I'm sure there's someone usually out there who eventually feels compassionate enough to read someone's script, critique it, and then is willing enough to let that person rip them apart because they didn't like being put down, but they obviously haven't come along yet.
